Design Education Talks Ep. 40 – Marcello Magalhaes

Marcello Magalhães is founder and chief design officer at Speakeasy – Knowledge Brokers, a brand innovation freelancer global network in 2018. Marcello started his career with a ten-year stint as a marketing and innovation manager for Abbott Laboratories and Unilever in Brazil and Argentina. Then, he moved agency-side into strategy with planning leading roles at networks including Y&R, Lowe, BBH, FCB, Ogilvy and Leo Burnett, before becoming Chief Strategy Officer at Leo Burnett Chicago in 2016. He also made time for his own ventures, being a partner to London-based innovation brand strategy boutique BrandThinkTank, co-founder of Tailor Made ad agency – internationally-awarded and later acquired by PublicisGroupe – and earlier this year co-founded sonic branding strategic/production house, Hole in the Wall Gang. He holds 3 Masters in Communication and Strategic Design, teaches at the Miami Ad School for 15 years, and lives with his family in Chicago.
